Gaggia ClassicPro / Evo / E24

The open-source mod motherboard. 58mm commercial group, Ulka vibration pump, three-way solenoid - great bones, factory-tuned for E.S.E. pods.

Gaggia Classic espresso machine

What Gaggia got wrong (on purpose).

Every factory machine is a set of cost decisions. Here are the ones that hurt your shot - and the mod that fixes each.

OPV set at 12-15 bar

Tuned for E.S.E. pods - way too high for fresh coffee. Causes channeling, spray, sour shots.

Mod: Swap the 9 bar OPV spring for a pressure starting point suited to fresh coffee.

Bimetal thermostat, 10-15C dead zone

Forces "temperature surfing" before every shot, inconsistent extraction.

Mod: Add a PID kit for a more repeatable brew-temperature target.

No pressure profiling

One flat 9 bar, no preinfusion control.

Mod: Plan a dimmer or Gaggiuino path when pressure profiling is the actual goal.
