“Bambino no steam” is not one procedure because the two common models use different steam systems. BES450 Bambino has a manual steam wand; BES500 Bambino Plus adds automatic milk texturing and automatic purge behavior.
BES450: what happens when the wand is blocked?
The BES450 manual says a blocked wand will immediately stop operating. Breville recommends a manual purge after milk texturing and says holding the steam button for about 3 seconds activates a purge with short water pulses.
BES500 Plus: what does a blockage look like?
The Plus detects blockage during texturing, stops operation, turns the STEAM light off, and flashes both milk-temperature and milk-foam lights until the required purge/cleaning process is completed.
How do you clean the tip?
For both models, start by wiping/purging. If holes remain blocked, use the supplied steam-tip cleaning tool; the Plus manual instructs owners to unscrew the tip with that tool when necessary.
What if the tip is clean but steam is still absent?
Move beyond the tip: confirm the machine heats normally, water is available, and the exact model’s descale/support procedure has been followed. Do not infer an internal valve or heater failure solely from one blocked-wand event.
