LELIT Anna mods: choose by model, LELIT57 fit and symptom
The Anna family shares the LELIT57 accessory system, but control hardware differs by model. Identify PL41EM vs PL41TEM and the actual problem before choosing a basket, PID-related change, pressure work or steam hardware.

Which current Anna do you have?
LELIT currently documents both PL41EM and PL41TEM around the LELIT57 group, a three-way solenoid, coffee-pressure manometer, stainless body, 250 ml brass coffee boiler, 2.7 L tank and 7.5 kg weight.
Both current Annas share the LELIT57 group, but the PID, switches and steam wand differ. Read the model code before copying a setting or ordering a part.
| Current model | Factory control / wand | What that changes |
|---|---|---|
| PL41EM | No factory PID listed; chromed buttons; steam/hot-water wand. | Do not copy PL41TEM PID/service settings into this model. |
| PL41TEM | PID boiler-temperature controller; lever switches; multidirectional steam/hot-water wand. | Start from the factory PID and current LELIT documentation before changing control parameters. |
Model first: “Anna” is not enough information for controller, wand or accessory advice. Record the full model code and market suffix.
Is LELIT57 a problem?
No. It is a different accessory standard from the common 58 mm ecosystem. LELIT documents current Anna models as compatible with LELIT57 barista tools and supplies LELIT57 filterholders and filters.
The practical task is fit verification. Match baskets, tampers and portafilters to LELIT57 and to the actual basket/portafilter geometry rather than assuming any product labelled “57 mm” will fit correctly.
Which precision basket fits the Anna?
Use the basket manufacturer's compatibility data and the exact Anna/portafilter you own. LELIT57 identifies the group/accessory family, but rim shape, basket height and portafilter clearance still matter.
HBM does not present one third-party basket as universally compatible across every Anna revision without a fit record. If a basket does not lock cleanly, stop and verify the exact basket and portafilter rather than forcing it.
What tamper size should I use?
Match the tamper to the actual basket inside diameter and the tool maker's fit guidance. A nominal “57 mm” label is not precise enough to guarantee identical fit across all LELIT57 baskets.
Use a tamper that moves freely without binding and does not leave an excessive untamped ring. HBM does not claim one decimal-size target for every basket without measurement evidence.
What does the 250 ml brass boiler tell you?
LELIT currently lists a 250 ml brass coffee boiler on both PL41EM and PL41TEM. That is useful hardware context, but it does not prove a fixed steam duration, warm-up time or number of consecutive milk drinks.
The 250 ml brass boiler is useful context. It does not tell you steam time or how many drinks you can make in a row. Diagnose the symptom before buying a new wand or tip.
Steam behavior also depends on the exact wand, machine condition, tip cleanliness, water level, heat state and technique. Diagnose the symptom before buying a new wand or tip.
Which steam wand or tip fits?
Do not infer thread direction, valve connection or part number from “Anna” alone. Current PL41TEM documentation already lists a multidirectional steam/hot-water wand; current PL41EM uses a different documented wand/control arrangement.
Before ordering a tip or cross-model wand, identify the exact model code and use current LELIT or supplier compatibility documentation. HBM does not publish a universal Elizabeth/Silvia transplant or panel-modification recipe.
Should I change PL41TEM PID service parameters?
Not from a copied web recipe. LELIT confirms that PL41TEM has PID boiler-temperature control, but the public product page does not make hidden service parameters a universal owner calibration procedure.
Record existing settings and use current LELIT service documentation or qualified support for service-level parameters. Do not copy F.04/F.05, Kp/Ki/Kd or other hidden values from another production batch.
Does every Anna need an OPV adjustment?
No. Current LELIT pages confirm a coffee-pressure manometer, but the public product pages do not publish one universal OPV target covering every Anna variant and market.
The coffee-pressure manometer shows what is happening. Before you turn a valve, measure with a model-specific method, and do hydraulic work only unplugged, cool and depressurized.
Use a model-specific pressure measurement and service procedure before touching a valve. If the machine is behaving correctly, a pressure change is not a required first modification.
Anna PL41TEM or current Rancilio Silvia?
Use the comparison to understand workflow differences, not to declare a winner.
| Current documented fact | Anna PL41TEM | Rancilio Silvia |
|---|---|---|
| Group / accessory system | LELIT57 | Rancilio brass brewing group; verify exact 58 mm accessory fit with the product/tool maker. |
| Coffee boiler | 250 ml brass | 0.3 L coffee boiler |
| Temperature control | Factory PID boiler-temperature controller | Manual regulation / thermostat brew-temperature control |
| Pressure display | Factory coffee-pressure manometer | Current standard Silvia product page lists no coffee-boiler pressure gauge |
| Machine weight | 7.5 kg | 14 kg |
Those are hardware/control differences. They do not justify old fixed warm-up times, steam-recovery numbers, “sub-degree” claims, lifetime rankings or a recommendation based on personality type.
What should I change first?
Start with the actual problem:
- Basket/tamper fit: verify LELIT57 and actual basket geometry.
- Temperature: identify PL41EM vs PL41TEM before choosing a controller path.
- Pressure: measure with a documented method before changing a valve.
- Steam: diagnose wand/tip/heat condition before replacing hardware.
- Maintenance: follow the current LELIT documentation for the exact machine and water conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use 58 mm baskets on an Anna?
Current Anna documentation identifies the group and supplied tools as LELIT57. Use LELIT57-compatible baskets/tools and confirm the exact basket/portafilter fit before buying.
What tamper size should I buy?
Match the tamper to the actual basket inside diameter and the tool maker's fit guidance rather than one universal decimal-size rule.
Should I change the PID service parameters?
Not from a copied web recipe. Record current values and use LELIT service documentation or qualified support for service-level parameters.
Can I run a community controller project on the Anna?
Community integrations may exist, but HBM does not have a locked Anna implementation record to publish as a supported conversion. Treat it as an advanced custom project and use the current project's machine-specific documentation.
Does every Anna need the same “first mod”?
No. Basket/tooling, pressure, steam, maintenance and controller changes solve different problems. Start with the symptom and exact model.
