Gaggia Classic family compatibility guide
The Gaggia Classic name spans different model IDs, voltages and regional variants. Use the full machine label and a current source before choosing a controller path, wiring harness, OPV part, boiler-related part or compatibility-sensitive accessory.
Why the family name is not enough
Current project and manufacturer documentation separates the Classic family by model ID and voltage. The same broad product name can cover machines with different Eco logic, grounding requirements, model years or regional suffixes.
For a current reference, the Gaggiuino compatibility table distinguishes Original Classic, Classic V2, Classic Pro, Classic Pro Eco, Evo Pro and E24 paths. Gaggia’s own current product-search pages also use full suffixes such as RI9481/11. Treat the full label as evidence; do not stop at “Gaggia Classic.”
Reference page, not a universal parts promiseThe compatibility trap to avoid first
The current Gaggiuino compatibility table explicitly separates the 220–240 V 2015–2018 Classic V2 / SIN035U / RI9403 from the supported Original Classic paths. A guide written for an older Classic or later Classic Pro should not be assumed to fit that machine.
When a model code, voltage or regional suffix does not line up with the guide you are reading, stop and resolve the identity before choosing a controller or wiring path.
Current Classic-family compatibility snapshot
This table is a dated planning reference based on the current Gaggiuino compatibility table checked on 2026-09-20. Recheck the live official table for a new build because model years and project requirements can change.
| Machine | Voltage | Current model-year range | Model ID | Compatibility note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gaggia Classic | 100–120 V | 1991–2018 | SIN035 / RI9303 | Supported in the current table; current project notes flag grounding. |
| Gaggia Classic | 220–240 V | 1991–2014 | SIN035 / RI9303 | Supported in the current table. |
| Gaggia Classic V2 | 220–240 V | 2015–2018 | SIN035U / RI9403 | Not supported by the current Gaggiuino compatibility table. |
| Gaggia Classic Pro | 100–120 V | 2019–2022 | SIN035R / RI9380 | Supported in the current table. |
| Gaggia Classic Pro | 220–240 V | 2019–2022 | SIN035R / RI9380 | Supported; current Gaggiuino notes describe this non-Eco variant as uncommon. |
| Gaggia Classic Pro Eco | 220–240 V | 2019–2022 | SIN035UR / RI9480 | Current Gaggiuino notes recommend a custom-wiring path and machine-specific power-switch handling. |
| Gaggia Classic Evo Pro | 100–120 V | 2023–2024 | SIN035R / RI9380 | Current Gaggiuino notes add build-path-specific OPV and insulation requirements. |
| Gaggia Classic Evo Pro | 220–240 V | 2023–2024 | SIN035UR / RI9481 | Current Gaggiuino notes recommend custom wiring and machine-specific power-switch handling. |
| Gaggia Classic Pro E24 | 100–120 V | 2024–? | SIN035R / RI9380 | Current Gaggiuino notes add build-path-specific OPV and insulation requirements. |
| Gaggia Classic Pro E24 | 220–240 V | 2024–? | SIN035UR / RI9481 | Current Gaggiuino notes recommend custom wiring and machine-specific power-switch handling. |
What is current about the E24?
Gaggia’s current global Classic E24 page documents a lead-free brass boiler and group, a professional 58 mm stainless-steel filter-holder, and a three-way solenoid valve. It lists the pump as 15 bar nominal.
Gaggia North America’s current E24 page separately lists an Italian-made 15 Bar Ulka pump and OPV Calibration: 9 Bar. These numbers describe different parts of the hydraulic system. Do not rewrite the pump’s nominal rating as the brew-pressure target.
Current global E24 documentation also lists multiple power supplies by region. That is another reason to check the exact market and suffix before treating wiring or controller advice as universal.
What to record before choosing a part or mod path
Machine identity
- Full model code including suffix, not just the family name.
- Voltage and market/region shown on the machine.
- Approximate model year only when supported by current product or project documentation.
- Whether the machine is Classic, Classic V2, Pro, Eco, Evo or E24.
Compatibility task
- Name the exact part or modification you are considering.
- Use the current supplier/manufacturer fit list for passive accessories.
- For Gaggiuino builds, follow the current machine-specific Gaggiuino documentation. For other PID kits, follow the kit supplier’s instructions for your exact machine model and voltage.
- For a used machine, record known previous modifications before assuming it is stock.
